You’ve researched. You’ve tested. You’ve tried everything.

…maybe even put on a skimpy bikini (no shaming here💁‍♀️).

Yet, growth is stagnate. Money is running out. And you’re wasting your adventure on the computer.

Trust me, I’ve been there. I watched dozens (hundreds) of, “How to start a travel vlog on YouTube” videos.

I’ve researched and copied highly trending topics.

I’ve dug into editing techniques and fancy graphics.

I’ve spent countless hours listening to the top creator podcasts and researching leads left and right trying to figure out what I’m missing.

And still…. like you, I just couldn’t figure out why my channel wasn’t growing.

100+ Million

active YouTube channels.

90%+

of those channels NEVER get to 10,000 Subscribers.

<10%

are monetized in the YouTube Partner Program.

5-7 Years

is the average life span of YouTuber.

What makes it worse is when some 20-somethings young good-looking couple comes into the scene, and they are immediately successful.

It’s so dang frustrating!!!

You’ve probably thought to yourself, “They’re just successful because they are pretty.” (Yah, I’ve thought that too).

There’s no denying that good looks and charisma take some pretty average channels very far. I’ll be honest – I’ve looked in the mirror and wondered if my wonky teeth are what’s stopping me.

And after spending countless hours doing everything to make your channel grow, you’ve probably thought, “Maybe I just don’t have the ‘IT-Factor’. Maybe this is just a delusional dream.”

What if I told you you’re not delusional? And in fact, what’s stopping your channel from growing are some pretty simple and fixable things.

After years of studying YouTube, interviewing the biggest creators for my podcast, and coaching dozens of channels, I can tell you that the top Travel Vloggers are not something special. It’s just that they have mastered the basics.

This is where the Master YouTube course steps in – to help you not just learn how to start a travel vlog on YouTube, but how to MASTER the platform.

“Daniella’s course is by far the most helpful in finding my niche and story, and in how I can leverage that for an income.”

Several years ago, I was launching my first YouTube channel with hope and excitement at the idea of being able to create for a living. I’d done the math and analyzed all the biggest channels – I’d worked out it would take me two years to be fully financially sustainable.

Within six months, my channel had exploded as I told a horrific story of a medical emergency that destroyed my adventure dreams. I was getting 50,000-100,000 views per video and was monetised within 6 months.

But as the story ended, views plummeted. I scrambled to understand why and did everything I could to bring views back up.

Like many people, I tried trends, clickbait, fancy editing, graphics, and different storytelling styles. I even copied video topics from the biggest channels in and out of my sector!

But still, I didn’t get the views I wanted. So, I kept searching.

It’s through that journey that I returned back to the basics of how to start a travel vlog on YouTube: good storytelling, compelling thumbnail and title, and audience engagement.

We like to think we research the basics, implement them, and then we are done. Then on to the other things that can grow your channel.

Most YouTubers think you they learn the basics and then that’s it. But what I realised is that YouTube requires you to MASTER the basics.

You study them, implement. Then you circle back and study them again. Optimise. Implement. And then circle back again. And again. And again.

That’s when I decided I was going to MASTER the basics.

Every month, I give you a breakdown of my business, including my financials and the important choices I am making so you can learn from my experience.

Participate in or host workshops on a range of topics offered by experts within and outside Master YouTube.

Once I understood that I needed to master the basics, I set out to learn from the best. I joined the course and community of the go-to scriptwriter for the likes of Ali Abdaal, Mike Shake, Noah Kagan and Creator Booth: George Blackman himself. I set out to understand digital businesses by joining Jay Clouse’s community and took every course he had available. I joined Marie Wendt’s social media and ads courses, Jay Alto’s Thumbnail World, Jake Thomas’s Creator Hooks, hired numerous private consultants, 1:1 coaching, ordered books and much much more.

I was determined.

And after all that learning and coaching, it always circled back to these 4 things, which I have made the core of Master YouTube:

Most YouTubers skip idea generation altogether, or they don’t know how to take an idea and make something original. They copy trending videos, without being thoughtful if it supports their overarching story, whether they have a unique view to offer, or whether their audience even cares about the idea.

The same content can be presented in a myriad of ways. You have to produce videos on topics that people actually care about. That means being thoughtful about how you frame and present ideas.

99% of YouTubers do not know how to tell a story. A lot of us “learned” storytelling once, twice, maybe a few times, but we never really figured out how to implement. Even worse, YouTubers confuse learning how to tell a story with losing their authenticity, refuse to learn as a result, and then bore their viewers.

Engaging storytelling happens before you ever pick up the camera. It starts out with a good idea that has a clear goal. It continues with cinematography that progresses the story with each story beat. It ends with solid editing that clearly brings it all together and post-engagement that continues the story.

We’ve all at some point learned that curiosity is the core of getting a high click through rate, but very few of us understand how to implement the principle. As a result, numerous YouTubers settle on 5% or below click through rates, not understanding that this truly is holding their channel back.

Compelling packaging (thumbnail & title) only happens when you have clarity about the goal of the video. With a clear goal, it becomes easy to visually tell a story that builds curiosity and makes it impossible not to click through.

Boring Audience Engagement

Most YouTubers have no idea how to show up authentically on camera, which is deeply attached to their belief systems about themselves. Telling someone to show up on camera more often or more authentically means nothing if you don’t tackle the underlying beliefs.

Audience engagement happens from start to finish and is an integral part of how you monetize. Serving your audience sits at the center of all your actions and leads to loyal viewers who trust your recommendations and want to financially support you.

After realizing these four elements were the crux of YouTube, I set out to create a system to master each. A supportive community sat at the heart of my YouTube growth, and I was dedicated to bringing that into my own course.

I’m an adventure creator myself. Frustrated with communities where posting your videos for review was banned, contribution wasn’t reciprocal, and no one seemed to know how to conduct high quality research & testing of YouTube strategies, I set out to create the resource I desired.

My master’s education taught me how to ask the right questions, and I quickly realised a few big things:

  • A lot of YouTubers explode and then extrapolate reasons for their growth without having tested their theories.
  • The rules of growth are different depending on the size of your channel.
  • Most of the YouTube growth information out there is not applicable or tested on Adventure and Travel channels, especially so for vloggers.
  • 77% of Adventure Channels will monetise through sponsorships, affiliate links and Patreon, all of which require constant time and energy.

Now, with over two dozen podcast interviews with the biggest adventure creators, learnings through coaching numerous channels, and thousands of dollars invested in my own YouTube education, I’ve created a space to help you learn how to start a travel vlog on YouTube that will support the fulltime adventure lifestyle of your dreams.

“I think her course really helps you connect the dots. You can make material, but how do you really put it together? How do connect the dots and make it flow into one piece from another? I think that’s where she really comes in.”

@twohalf-hitches

You’re an absolute beginner excited about YouTube and ready to get out there adventuring! But beware – this isn’t an a “famous in one week” course. As one user put it, “It’s super in-depth, totally practical, and perfectly suited to brand new… channels.”

You’ve made a few videos, overcome the giant hump of learning how to edit, but you can see you’re not growing as fast as you expected. You’re not going to wait around to figure it out. You’re willing to invest in yourself and get the support you need!

You’ve been at this for a while now. You understand how to make a video, and you have some loyal followers, and yet, something isn’t clicking. You’re ready to find the missing link and get the success you deserve!

You’ve got a loyal audience, you regularly put out well-performing videos, and yet, you feel like you’re not as big as you deserve. You’re also not sure how to best monetise, and may feel stilted when it comes to actually creating systems and a business around your channel.

I want to make this as easy a choice as possible for you, so that you can invest in the future of your channel without having to overthink if it’s worth it or not.

That’s why I’m making a guarantee to give you back 100% of your purchase if you decide to back out within 30 days. For any reason. No Questions asked.

Are you ready to invest in your future? I’m ready when you are!

Focus sprints are 1-hour workshops that run over the course of 4-6 weeks on a specific topic that we all improve on together at the same time.

The course consists of 41 topics adding up to almost 9.39 hours of self-paced video lessons designed to help you learn how to start a travel vlog on YouTube as fast as possible. I recommend getting an early start on the coursework so you can maximise the feedback sections as you practice.

Absolutely! This course and community is applicable for beginners through to the more experienced. Workshops on storytelling serve as a first lesson for newbies, but the in-depth lessons on composition help the experienced folk master storytelling. Sponsorship focus sprints help get newbies prepped, while helping the masters get fully sustainable.

This course is designed by adventurers for adventurers. We understand what that entails, and the course and community is designed specifically for YOU! That means recorded sessions, multiple opportunities to join workshops, clear notes, and year-long access so you’re getting the most out of the space.

Members in the Activate and Premium tiers have access to book in a 1:1 coaching session with Daniella at any time on any topic. Coaching is limited to one hour per week and is on a first come, first serve basis.

The course applies to anyone in the travel and adventure YouTube space, regardless of whether they are vlogging their life or doing product reviews. The same principals of storytelling, packaging (thumbnail, title + intro), and marketing apply.
